Obituary for Valerie Taylor von Allmen

Valerie Taylor  von Allmen
Valerie Taylor von Allmen 79 passed away Monday June 27 at Brookdale Senior Living in Cary NC.
She was born in Tampa FL on October 28, 1936. She was married to Robert H. von Allmen Jr. and lived in St. Inigoes Md where she was instrumental in the startup and operation of the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum. She was passionately involved in women’s clubs, advocating for children and operating von Allmen Enterprises. She worked tirelessly for the Republican party in various capacities.
During a naval base realignment, they moved to North Charleston SC until her husband passed away in April of 2014. They were both active members of the Summerville Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son: Michael “Shawn” von Allmen (Stephanie) of Cary NC and four grandchildren: Nathan, Stephen, Justin and Kirsten von Allmen of Cary NC. She was predeceased by her husband Robert H. von Allmen Jr; two daughters; Vicki and Karen von Allmen and one sister Kathryn Hudson.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Trinity Episcopal Cemetery St. Mary’s City, MD with Pastor Lanny Clarke officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summerville Church of Christ, 413 Old Trolley Road, Summerville, SC 29485.
