The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of JoAnn Barthelme can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Dr. Bathelme welcomed us when we first arrived to St. Mary's County in her office at White Marsh Elementary School. Her warm and personal greetings made the entire family feel at home from day one. During their time in her school, the children learned to love to read, to walk "like a bear" down corridors to celebrate their achievements and to generally understand that we live in a society of neighbors and loving adults as sincere as that of TV's "Mr. Rogers." Thank you, Dr. "Jo," you and yours remain in our prayers.
